Tweeting from the Salt Palace?

DM @UtahGOP and we’ll add you to the VIP list.  So far, we’ve got:

@UtahGOP @joshloftin @RobertGehrke @thomaswburr @sausagegrinder @hollyonthehill @utahsenate @RicCantrell @thesidetrack @ethanmillard @CityWeekly @saintless @rfrandsen @cboyack

We’re using hashtags #utgop and #utpol.  Our friends on the south side of the convention center will likely also use #utdem.

Multiple perspectives add depth perception.

    The Utah GOP needs to promote the use of social media more. At the convention, it would be nice to have a power point slide up for all delegates and participants to see including the twitter names of all candidates as well as hashtags and trending topics of the convention.

    Social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook get information out as to voters. It’s also useful for being a barometer as far as what voters are talking and thinking about. If hashtags are consistent across the board, everyone should be on the same page about what is being said. This gives each candidate the opportunity to know in real time what voters are thinking.

    Social media gave the democrats a huge edge in the last presidential election. If Salt Lake City and Utah is serious about wanting to host the GOP presidential convention, it’s time we step up our social media presence, and what better time to start now at the UT GOP convention!
