A Deficit Of Fiscal Reason

February 5, 2010

Seems the RNC has the same opinion of Congressman Matheson’s debt increase vote as does our UTGOP Chairman, Dave Hansen:

From Chairman Hansen’s Facebook post yesterday:

For the record, Utah’s 2nd CD Congressman, Jim Matheson, the guy who tries to paint himself as a “fiscal conservative” to us folks back home, voted “YES” to raise the debt limit by the astronomical $1.9 trillion, that’s trillion. Utah’s other two Congressmen voted “NO”.

From the RNC yesterday:

“Today, Congressman Matheson voted to increase the national debt ceiling to $14,294,000,000,000. Only in Washington would the solution to a skyrocketing national debt be to increase the amount of reckless spending, but that is just what Congressman Matheson voted for today. As Utah families have been forced to tighten their belts, Democrats are raising our national debt higher than ever. Matheson claims to be fiscally responsible, but his vote in Congress is only further proof that he is out of touch with Utah workers and families.”
